Macadamia Nourishing Hair Masque

I have been in the need for a hair masque since I just highlighted my hair a few weeks ago. From the bleach it made my hair very dry and brittle. I have been eyeing this product on birchbox, but decided to buy it off amazon since it was a bit cheaper and had a gift card.

The product smells like nuts, a salon, and vanilla. It doesn't smell bad, but it is kind of strong in my opinion. It does have thick consistency with a slight pinkish hue to it.

have used this masque three times now. The directions on the masque say to use it one to two times a week and keep it on anywhere from 5-10 minutes. You put the masque on from roots to ends and comb it out.

When I first got this product I did it twice last week for 10 minutes and noticed it was easier to comb my hair out using my fingers. Once I blow dried my hair it felt silky and looked shiny, but I did not notice any other improvements.

This week I only use it once and will continue to use it once a week until I re-highlight my hair in April or May. I kept it on for 10 minutes and when I blow dried my hair it felt silky, shiny, and looked healthier. I'm hoping that each week that I used this masque my hair will look healthier.

I do recommend this masque to everyone and even if you don't dye it or bleach your hair, it is always good to use a hair masque because the sun can damage it and heat products. You wouldn't have to do two times a week and could keep it on for five minutes. I will buy this again, but I do want to try out the Beauty Protector Hair Masque from Birchbox and compare these two products.

You can buy this product from Ulta, Sephora, Amazon, and Birchbox.

January 2016 Birchbox

A few weeks ago I received the curated box: On Trend-Korean Beauty and I loved it, and just for a quick update on it, I noticed the Goodal Waterest First Essence broke my skin out. Anyway, this is my official monthly box from Birchbox.

For those who do not know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly service that costs $10 a month and you get 5 deluxe samples that can include makeup, skincare, haircare, body, etc. They also have many promotions for new members and the current promotion is if you sign up using a persons unique referral link, you and that person will be entered in a drawing for a BEAUTY BLENDER Royal. I think that's an amazing contest/drawing since beauty blenders are amazing and are life changing when it comes to doing makeup. Also, there is a code that you can use at checkout to get a body balm: LOVEGWS. Please sign up with this link: https://www.birchbox.com/invite/allthingskayla

Now, for the review.

This month I received:

-BioRepublic Skincare Pomegranate Crush Illuminating Mask: This mask has a sweet smell that is light. It is easy to unfold from the packaging and I noticed that it didn't slide off my face as I wore it. However, the mask did curl up a bit on the sides and the top of my face. When I took the mask off it made my face look shiny and healthy. The serum did make my face a bit sticky when it was first wet, but it wasn't sticky after it dried.

-Whish Three Whishes Body Butter in Lavender: I was mostly excited for this product. The lavender is not over powering and is a light scent that is very calming. I really love this scent and want to try the other scents. All you need is a small amount and it goes on smooth and is very hydrating. I use it on my arm since I have keratosis pilaris which are small bumps from too much keratin production in the skin, so I am always looking for a lotion, oil, or balm that can hydrate my skin and lessen the bumps. I'm going to buy a full size in my next haul and I may get the lavender scent, but I noticed they have a coconut scent and I love coconut. If you have tried this product or purchased, what was your favorite scent?

-IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer: I got this in the Korean box  and I like this product. It gives the appearance of healthy dewy skin. It does not have a silicone feeling, but it feels like a cream.

-Eyko Fat Liquid Eyeliner: This was the first product I tried out of my box and I was a little disappointed because it was drying out. I don't know if it is because of the weather being cold or that's how it is. I put it under hot water and it seemed to help a little. I did swatch it again later that night and it seemed like it was working, but I guess time will tell and I will give an update in my next post.

-Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: This is the smallest sample I have ever seen for dry shampoo. I've been wanting to try this dry shampoo. Anyway, I love getting dry shampoos since I do not wash my every day since my hair is more on the dry side and I like using dry shampoo as a pick me up. Last month I got the Klorane dry shampoo and comparing these two dry shampoos, I like the amika better since it more of a light floral smell and it doesn't give a white cast onto my hair or feel like it was weighing my hair down. Also, it feels like it soaks up oils really well. I will probably buy this in the near future and I'm hoping to try more dry shampoos from different brands.

What did you all get and what was your HG and HF from your box or from any of your subscription services?

Also, what is everyone choosing for February? I'm torn between the curated box and the whish cleansing oil. I may buy the curated box in the shop and then choose the whish cleansing oil. For the curated box I really want the whish mud mask and the OCC lip tar since I love lip products.

I have a haul coming on Monday and sometime next week I will be posting a review so stay tuned and please subscribe.

On Trend: Korean Beauty Featured Box

For those who do not know what Birchbox is, Birchbox is a monthly beauty/lifestyle box that includes 5 deluxe samples that are anywhere from skincare, haircare, body, makeup, etc. It is $10 a month, but until January 9th you can get your first box for $5! Use HAPPY5 at checkout (I will update the code when the come out with a new one) by using this link: https://www.birchbox.com/invite/allthingskayla

This month Birchbox released a curated box that features 7 items that give people an insight to k-beauty. I did not choose this box as my regular monthly Birchbox, but I purchased this box in the shop for free using my points. I could not pass up this box since I am sucker for face masks.

The box includes:

This product is hydrating and moisturizing. To be honest when I first received this product I was a little confused on how to use it since the directions on the back of the bottle are in Korean. Anyway, you tap the top of the bottle on a cotton pad or on to your fingers and then tap the product on to your face and avoid tugging your skin. A little goes a long way and it is a water like gel serum that does not make your skin sticky. It makes my skin feel soft and nice with a dewy look. I love this product and will probably buy this in a full size item or in the Goodal set that Birchbox is currently selling in their shop.

My nightly routine is to take a makeup remover wipe and wipe off my makeup, but I saw that this cleansing foam takes off your makeup and is gentle on the skin. I felt a little weird putting the serum onto my face to take off my makeup. The serum went on nice and took off my makeup wonderfully. To think about it, it actually took off my makeup better than my makeup removing wipes. My face did feel a little dry after using the cleanser, but it did feel really clean. I did not use it to take off any eye makeup.

After using the cleansing foam and waiting for my face to dry, I used this product. It comes as a thin serum that you put on your face and once it is on your face it starts to foam up. It is pretty cool! You keep this bubble peel on your face for two minutes, and in my opinion it is kind of hard to keep on your face for two minutes since the foam can make your face itchy (not an irritated itchy). After the two minutes is up you rub it into your skin to help exfoliate and then wash it off. After I washed this product off my face I was surprised to see how smooth my face was. I was really excited to try this product and am in love with it! Totally am going to buy this product and highly recommend it. I literally can't stop touching my face since it so soft and I have never felt it this soft. Definitely helps with dry skin.

This is a nice lip and cheek tint. It smells like cherries and I really love the smell and it has nice pigmentation. I do not like using in on my cheeks though because it is really red and I have very pale skin, so the red makes me look like I am super sick or even more pale. I do like it for my lips though. It reminds me of Benefit's Benetint but is a darker and longer lasting red. I will not purchase a full size. It is a good product, but I won't be using it for my cheeks.

I'm actually getting this in my regular box this month. This primer has a smooth consistency and does not feel like silicone when comparing it to other primers. It gives you a dewy look and can be worn under foundation or by yourself. It also has a nice smell to it. I say if you wear this primer then skip the highlighter or you will look a little greasy or very shiny.

I was most excited about this product, however I really do not like it. When I first opened the packaging, the serum went flying onto my bathroom floor, and the mask itself was really saturated. I struggled with getting the mask on my face since it kept sticking together and scrunching up. I kept the mask on for twenty minutes and it felt like it was drying out fast as it sat on my face and then when I took it off there was barely serum left on my face. This product has a nice smell and the mask does stick on the face nicely and barely slides. It did leave my face shiny and very smooth.

This was another product that I was very excited about since I love masks. The smell is nice and it has a smooth consistency. I feel like a little goes a long way. When I have this product on my face it does make my face feel a little tight and I kept it on my face for ten minutes. After washing this off my face, my face felt smooth and clean. This mask did not dry out my face and I will probably buy this product in the near future.

Overall I feel like this is an amazing box and a great box for people looking to try Korean products or different skincare products. I personally have not tried any Korean products before this and I am glad I got to try this box because it now has me hooked on K-Beauty. I am planning on buying RE:P and Goodal products when I get the chance.

In the comments below tell me what you think of this box or what are your favorite products? If you did not choose this box, then what are you getting in your monthly box? Also, what would you like to see in future posts? In a week or so I will be posting my January monthly box so stayed tuned.
